Lake Charlevoix Regatta
August 26th & 27th, 2017

Check and see who has pre-registered HERE

As most of you know Lake Charlevoix is in God’s Country with spectacular scenery that truly makes sailing here special.  The 2017 edition of this event will be held at the Boyne City Open space.  There should be plenty of room for RVs, boats and trailers. There are many options to explore in regards to shopping and dining. Downtown Boyne is right on the beach.

ACCOMMODATIONS

Camping:
  • RV camping: there will be space allocated in the lot behind  city hall (South of the Honeywell building). If you are interested in this, please contact Tara (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) to get on the reservation list.  If that is not appealing, the state parks mentioned below can also be utilized.
  • Tent camping: there are several nearby options: Young state park, and Whiting Park.   In addition, a few tents can be accomodated at a local house.  Please contact James Derck if interested.
  • Please Note:  If staying at the State Park or Whiting Park, sailors may keep their boats on the beach and launch from the campgrounds. At the state park, boats should be kept on the beach of the Terrace Campground—near the boat launch. For Whiting Campground, sailors may keep their boats on the beach past the swimming area (East of the swim buoys). Those who choose to motel it can launch from the site in Boyne City.

Hotels:
  • There are a few hotels in the area (map here).  Plan ahead and book early to be sure you get a spot.

HOSPITALITY
For Saturday evening dinner we'll get together at the Pine Lake Lodge (map here) where they've reserved a group spot for us. Its a short 10minute walk south of the open space.  Everything they cook is using a wood fire oven and their website highlights the wood fired pizza.  In addition to other spirits, they have 10 Michigan Craft Beers on draft, but people can also go downstairs and order drinks from the Boyne City Tap Room—which has around 40 craft beers on tap.
