If you enjoy crystal clear water and a beautiful campsite setting, then this is the place for you. Higgins Lake State Park provides a spectacular protected site that is amazing to sail any time of the year, assuming the water is in its liquid form ;)

The Official 2021 CRAM Common NOR is posted HERE
Further event-specific information and registration is available below.  In case of discrepancy, the NOR takes precedence.

South Higgins Lake State Park near Roscommon. Superlatives can't do Higgins Lake justice. 9900 acres of protected crystal clear water, a well-kept wooded campground, and easy access to the highways. This is one fantastic place to sail.

North on I-75 to Roscommon exit. Left at the stop sign at the end of the exit ramp, go over the overpass, then take a right on Robinson Lake Road. Left at County Road 100. Follow this road to signs for park entrance.

Higgins detail

Camping: The only location to consider is the South Higgins Lake State Park (not the North Park). Phone (517) 821-6374. The park includes 305 acres, 512 modern campsites, picnicing, an excellent boat launch, and most importantly, more than one mile of sandy beach. We typically stay on the west side of the campground, in the sites at the north end of the middle loops. Boat setup and launch area are immediately north of the camping area.

Hotel: You're kidding right? If you must, there are some small motels in the area - probably a 15-20 minute drive from the site.  We'll leave it to Google and your creativity to find them.

Back by popular demand, we will have our traditional chili cook-off on Saturday, hosted by Jenny Robinson! So start testing and perfecting those recipes! If not bringing chili, please bring a dish to pass, salads, or desserts.

New this year is a zero waste competition category in addition to the #1 chili.  Your effort in reducing our collective landfill waste and "foodprint" will be awarded points and contribute to our Sailors for the Sea - Clean Regatta marks. Here are some ideas to get you started if you opt in for your dish: shop locally, compost, recycle, and document your effort to minimize the food/packaging waste with a picture or by weight. Be creative!
Please bring camping dishes to help cut down landfill waste during the event (waste will be weighed!). Recycling bins will be provided, as well as single use dishes and cutlery if needed. Don't forget your beverages!!

Finally, we'll need a headcount.  Please indicate the total number of people in your party attending this regatta:

8:45 - 9:15 Registration
9:30 Competitors meeting
11:00 First start signal
18:00 - ??? Chili cook-off and fire
9:00 Competitors meeting

13:00 No warning signal after this time
15:00 Awards
