Rules Quiz - Port Starboard with a windshift

Boats S (blue, on starboard tack) and P (yellow, on port tack) are both sailing close-hauled and are converging on a beat.  P will safely cross S.  However, when they are less than 2 boat-lengths apart, the wind shifts to the right ten degrees.  S heads up (changes her course) in response to the windshift such that P is unable to keep clear.  There is minor contact with no damage or injury, and both boats protest.  You are on the protest committee.  How would you decide this and why?

These days, everyone seems to have a blog about something.  Not all contribute value to the world. This, we hope, will be an exception.

As the new website editor, I wanted to first and foremost thank Roger for an excellent job over the past years.  Volunteer positions, especially behind the scenes ones like this, can be thankless jobs.  I know what really goes into it and perhaps more than anyone else, I can appreciate the work he's done (and done well).

Our first stop at Crescent Sail Yacht Club turned out into a very nice weekend!
